Philosophy

The structure and appearance of the face conveys our individuality more distinctly than any other part of our anatomy.  Our personality is further represented through the expressions of the eyes, mouth and nose.  This delicate interplay between our psychology and physical facial expression is an integral part of how human beings perceive themselves and interact with the world.  Changes to our appearance, whether through normal developmental growth, trauma or cancer, can have profound psychological effects. It is the awareness of this relationship that lead me to devote my life to studying the head and neck, and in particular Facial Plastic Surgery.

Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is a surgical field dedicated exclusively to to the face, head and neck.  Training to become a Facial Plastic Surgeon requires prequisite experience in Head and Neck Surgery, a specialty that focuses on treating all medical and surgical disorders of the head and neck including cancer, infectious processes, trauma and cosmetics.  This intensive training produces a surgeon with a three-dimensional understanding of this complex and delicate area of our anatomy.  Further sub specialty training in Facial Plastic Surgery focuses specifically on the cosmetic and reconstructive needs of head and neck surgery patients.

My philosophy as a surgeon is to provide the highest technical skills and highly desirable outcomes from within a doctor-patient relationship that is based in good communication and mutual understanding.  Please review my webpage, my available procedures and a sampling of some of my operative work.
